The department of Piura is located in northern Peru. It is bordered by Tumbes and the Republic of Ecuador on the north, by the Republic of Ecuador and Cajamarca on the east, by Lambayeque on the south, and by the Pacific Ocean on the west. Piura is known as the "City of carob trees" because of its tropical carob forests. This city has many tourist attractions, such as: the country's oldest square, hanging bridges that cross Piura river, the Cathedral, some parks and districts, such as Catacaos, Chulucanas, Sullana, Talara, Paita, among others.
