Trujillo, 569 km north of Lima, was precious to the Spanish aristocracy. Maybe it was because of its eternal spring weather. Trujillo was also the headquarters of the pre-Inca Chimú culture. The harmony of its colonial architecture, the colors of its mansions and churches and its wrought iron balconies have been preserved to this day. Two kilometers away from the city we can find the largest mud-brick city in the American continent: Chan-Chan, the capital of the Chimú, which was wiped out when the Incas conquered it.
